Baubles Task

I like the allusion in this photograph because the reflection in the baubles inst clear so it gives the abstract feeling to it and this always gives the interesting and different feel to any image, when it is almost like an allusion.

These two photographs I was trying to experiment with reflection in the baubles. I used a white plain background to make it stand out and to make sure the viewer does not get distracted. I always find it difficult when photographing reflections to get the focus correct because i do it manually. In these photographs and though tout the shoot i tried to experiment with depth of field, This is always an interesting concept.
In this photograph i tried to focus on the Christmas tree lights, I normally don't enjoy photographing christmas lights because you can get a glare from the light that can go though you image, you do get this slighty in this image but its not as bad as most and it quite effective in this image and i like how it brightens it up and add more off that green Christmas feel to the image.

This is an image that I really played around with the depth of field and tried to focus on different bits of the images to give it different effects and feels. I love how with this technique you only focus on what you want to focus on, so it is really effective to bringing the viewer into a certain part of the image. Also i really like how i have tried to capture the shadows of the object as well as the little specks of light that is bouncing off the balls.

In these 3 images I used a glass ball to reflect a selection box though, i thought this idea was really interesting because I didn't just want to photograph the typical Christmas things, likes Christmas tree and stuff like that, so i tried to think a bit different this time.
I really like how this ball makes the reflection become upside down this again makes my image so much more intresting to look at and again plays with that abstract idea. I also like how it enlarges santa and really emphasizes his belly and beard, which is the main things about santa.

On this images I really tried to focus on the glitter bauble, I did not use the flash in this image because I realised it was becoming difficult for me to focus and the image wasn't looking very clear when i used the flash this close.

I wanted to try and photograph some baubles, I likes the glitter one because I thought it would react well with the light and be really bright. I used the flash in the last photograph to brighten up and help with the reflection of the glitter and i love how it lit up the white bauble and made it appear almost like a snow flake.

Colour Negative/ Digital Print Comparison

In this shoot I really wanted to focus on reflection and try something a little bit different and that is why I decided to use this glass ball because it reflects things really well and clear and turns everything upside down, which I thought made it really interesting and a little different.
I tried to photograph this fro many different angels to see if it gives any different effects. I like this photograph because its all straights. the glass, the reflection and the bottle are all line up together. I used the light box to help brighten up my image and I always find it easier to photograph in film when it is brighter.

In this image I tried to capture different parts of the bottle in the glass ball and only focus on some areas, to see what effect this give. I like how it make the bottle appear round because of the glass ball it remind me of cat eyes and how they are supposed to see things.

Again this is me trying to experiment with different angels trying to not to only focus on the reflection but on the stand and the glass ball its self as well. I tried to used depth of field in all my images to make it more focused on certain areas.

This is a lot of wider shot and it is very effective its appears that i have used a golden box section.

I really like this one because i think that the reflection is a lot more darker and bold this is definitely one of my favourite photographs. The overall image is more bold and stands out a lot more to the viewer.

Digital Primary Research Task

Digital glass shoot, Primary Research Task

This is our Primary Research Task where we had to go out and shoot some photos of glass images to inspire and give us ideas on what we can shoot in the future.

This image didn't go as planned and i had to take it a go few times before i got it to look like this. I wanted to capture all of the colours of the traffic lights and to do this I had to make my shutter speed longer, which over exposed the sky and background because it let so much light in.  But this is still a very interesting photo because it almost captures the movement of the light and you can see the imprints and pattern in the glass. I think that this image would be interesting to shoot in colour film, for one of my final photographs because I sometimes think that digital photos can be very flat and lack contrast but film images are always so detailed and jump out at you.

I like this photo because you could see the reflection of the building over the road so clearly and i thought it would make an amazing photograph. I think also because the building i have photographed is black that helps the contrast to jump out and helps to being out the other building, also the  juxtaposition and contrast between the two building is good because of the different materials, times and styles of the two buildings.
I also didn't notice at the time but the sign at the bottom ways "we are moving" which in the image as represent time and how the word has changed and moved on from old to new.
This photograph was taken outside the new shopping centre at the bottom of a display, I thought that this would be interesting because it is a little bit abstract because of the material it makes your body look like a funny shape or size. I am also aware that there is a really similar photograph, that an old photographer has taken but i cant remember his name. This image is also a grate example of how to use reflection in your work, which personally I always find interesting photographing. I think that it would be interesting to do a joiner of my photograph and the older photographers image so you can see how times have changed the quality difference.
I didn't take a photograph of the full name of the new shopping centre because i thought that everyone would have done this photo but i didn't want to capture the lights to see if i could experiment with the in Photoshop when i have some free time. I do like this photo but i think it would be more effective if i upped the contrast to brighten the lights because at the moment the image does feel very flat and not very effective and you can tell it has the penitential to be a really eye catching photograph.
This was just a simple quick photos that i have taken while i was on the bus home one day, i wrote my name in the steam on the bus and photographed it, i did try and capture the light behind it on purpose to try and light it up a little more. I do like this photograph even know it can appear to be flat I think that the name and the light behind it really lights it up and brigs it to life. I also experimented with depth of field again in this image so that ti was only focused on the name and the light, depth of field is definitely somthing i like to play around with in every shoot that i do because i think it can really help to improve your image and to make it stand out a lot more.

Task 1 Research

April-Lee Hutchison
She likes shooting in black and white and her works are heavily influenced by her own emotions and instincts. She effortlessly connects with her models since she has developed her own taste from her modelling experiences.

Her style in nude photography echoes anonymity, intimacy, and mystery and illustrates a mishmash of the beauty and simplicity of the female human body, giving a classier sense to eroticism.

She also specializes in editorial and portraiture photography.

Aside from being a professional photographer, she also works as an art director and editor for two international magazines. Hutchinson’s first self-published book will be out this year.

This is one of her film photographs from her Nude and Eroticism Part of her website, i have looked at a lot of these images and to be honest i really like them, yes they are a bit vulgar to some but I think most of them are very tasteful, creative, intriguing and very mysterious. A lot of her images are not this covered up and elegant but this is definitely one of my favourite photos out of her nude college.
This is from Aprils Portraiture Part of her website and again a lot of it does contain nudity. This image  jumped out to be straight away, I think because of the colours and how unique and pretty this young women is makes it jump out that much more, and i think the contrast between her black hair, dark eyes and the beautiful bright background is amazing. Even know the focus isn't amazing i still think that it is really effective and if this was my work I would be proud.
This is from Her editorial/fashion Part of the website, I found that these photos are a lot more mysterious and even scary in some photographs, like something you might see in a horror story. This image is one of the more modest ones I have seen its in colour and it a lot lighter and brighter, were i think a lot of her work is pretty dark and gloomy but still very effective. I think this one is very modern because of the tattoos, hair and overall style, where a lot of her other images seem old fashion almost.

Erin Mulvehill
Her photographic style is beauty visualized and personified.

One of her highly acclaimed photo series, Underwater, is both a shivery, stunning recreation of her dreams and a telling illumination of her belief in transience and being born again. As opposed to its title, this set was captured in a studio with a 35mm film camera.

Mulvehill uses analogue photography as a tool to connect to the rest of the world. The Camera Project, which bequeaths disposable cameras to children across the globe, is an ongoing project of hers.
This is from Erin's Underwater shoots, and i find all these photographs so fascinating, they are so creative, creepy, elegant and so unique, i have never seen anything like this before, this is definitely something I was be really interested in giving a go and it would go perfectly with my glass theme, we are doing at the moment.
http://icanfreezetime.com/files/gimgs/60_5846plant.jpg
This is from Erin's personal folder on the website, which had a wide variety of different, photos, styles and ideas. I like this photo because its almost like a hidden message and how there is one little plant growing in the middle of the sand its almost inspiring.
http://icanfreezetime.com/files/gimgs/69_erinmulvehillinnocence21.jpg
This is from the To Innocence, lost. When you open up these images there is a short poem which relates to the images and how she sees the poem maybe when reading it and what it represents to her. I like this photograph because i think it represents that something beautiful can be in the most inspected place's.

Glass Photography Simon Bruntnell
Contemporary Glass Photography 11
Contemporary Glass Photography 11-1
I like this image because even know it doesn't shoot glass directly it is still in the photograph and it is definitely effective and different, i love all the blues and how well everything works together.
Contemporary Glass Photography 01
I like all these images because I think they show and represent the different ways and perspective you can have when photographing glass and I think that this project is a fantastic opportunity to be creative and think outside the box. I love how all these photos are completely different some are more complex then the others and some are just really simple but effect ideas.

These are just a few photos created by Erik Johansson, they are all so creative, and this kind of photograph/art is for the open minded and big thinkers because some of his ideas are amazing. They are all so amazing and creative and i am still wondering how is does all these amazing things. I love how realistic they are even know some of these photos are mind blowing and could not be real. He has definitely inspired me and got me thinking and I think that glass could really be good to create some interesting images like this.

Faeces Task

Faces Task

This is my faces task were we had to try two different techniques. I have also added some other extra photos of the light trails I did with the mood, which i thought looked really interesting and loved the different effects. I didn't manage to shoot all the photos in my short amount of time but the ones I did do turned out really good. I did find the silhouette was the most challenge, I just could get it right, im not sure why or if my technique was wrong, but i am going to try this again.
